New Colors Bring Home Island Vibes

Enveloped in the warm ocean breeze, toes wiggling in the soft sand, gazing out over the waves to the horizon, the natural elements of Hawaii create a place of serenity. Standing on the shore the eye follows rolling jungle hills and clear skies onto warm sands and vibrant tropical waters. The newest colors and blends in the Oceanside Glasstile collection embody the serenity of Hawaii’s natural landscape and evoke a sense of peace and calm, transforming any space into a little piece of paradise.

“When creating the new colors we wanted to broaden the range of two complimentary spectrums, allowing for softer gradient transitions,” reflects Oceanside Glasstile Designer Cathy Aroz, “The three new colors are the result of playing with hues and shades of popular colors Clear, Bondi, and Truffle.” Looking at these three new additions together, Oceanside Glasstile’s creative team was reminded of the beauty and depths of a tropical paradise and wanted to pay tribute to the spirit of Hawaii by using Hawaiian names Nalu, Kai and Koa for the colors and Puna, Kalani and Mauna to describe three new blends created with these colors.

Nalu is Hawaiian for wave; one of Hawaii’s many seductions, these perfect curls, swirling hues of blue, create the ultimate inspiration for any ocean lover looking to add a piece of the sea to their space. In Hawaiian the word Kai means ocean. The depths and vastness of the sea remind us of the expanse of the world and bring a sense of perspective and calm to everyday life. Koa is a type of tree native to the Hawaiian islands. Its dark wood has been a popular material for centuries; used to build canoes and surfboards, Koa wood is a valuable, timeless resource symbolizing the importance of preserving natural resources so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.

These colors were used with our existing palette to form three new color blends. Puna is Hawaiian for fresh water or spring, natural water welling up from the depths to refresh the body and soul. In Hawaiian Kalani signifies Heavens. This blend is sure to transport you to a tropical sanctuary – imagine feeling the expanse of the beautiful sky, its warm sultry breeze and a mind as calm as the lulling sea. The blend Mauna – meaning mountain, highlights the rich color of Koa. The blend of colors is inspired by the highest point in Hawai’i, Mauna Kea – the brilliance of the earth teamed with light kisses of snow and ice create a stunning balance of warms and cools that make the perfect backdrop for any space.

Each blend is a thoughtful culmination of some of Oceanside Glasstile’s most popular colors. Here are the colors and finishes featured in each new blend:

  • Puna: Infinite (Irid, Matte), Platinum (Irid), Nalu (Irid) and Kai (Irid)
  • Kalani: Bondi (Irid), Dove (Irid), Kai (Irid), Silverlight (Irid)
  • Mauna: Koa (Irid), Platinum (Irid), Truffle (Irid)

Nalu, Kai and Koa, Puna, Kalani and Mauna invite you to experience the tranquility of the islands in your own home. Whether used in a pool water line, along shower walls, in the kitchen, a powder room, or entry way, these colors and blends transform any space into a place of serenity and balance. Get Fresh in the New Year with Vibrant Green Hues Inspired by Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year

Burgeoning holiday cheer climaxes with anticipation of a new year, a fresh start and a renewed enthusiasm for life. No color is more appropriate to highlight this sentiment of aspirational growth like the snapping fresh color of natural green. It buds, it moves, it blossoms into nourishing food, protective shade, and living beauty. In 2017 we look forward to possibility and the benefits that abound from nurturing that which grows. To celebrate this symbolism, we highlight images that reflect the emotion featured in Pantone’s Color of the Year 2017 video for their new color Greenery.

“It’s very bold and I think it makes for a great accent color, either as a wall, an accessory, or better yet, as the name suggests, as some actual ‘greenery’. We have a large palette of colors with which to create the perfect backdrop; whether layered with additional color or as a neutral canvas that will highlight your ‘greenery’ of choice.” – Oceanside Glasstile Lead Designer, Cathy Aroz.

Oceanside Glasstile’s Divine Intervention

ANTIQUE MIRROR FEATURES HEAVENLY ALLURE

Carlsbad, CA – August, 2016 – Oceanside Glasstile gets ethereal this summer with three additional Antique Mirror colors delivered straight from the heavens. With inspiration from the sun god himself to the depths of Neptune’s kingdom, Oceanside Glasstile applies otherworldly allure to their Devotion color palette. Additionally a new pattern is brought to Devotion’s fold taking inspiration from the salty seashore and translating it into stunning home décor. Prepare to get lost in the stars or swim for sunken treasure during your next design odyssey.

Devotion is no stranger to bold color, glittering movement or intricate details. When the question arose to add additional antique mirror options to the color palette, In-house Designer Cathy Aroz enthusiastically responded, “I really love working with the antique mirrors. Each color shines its own personality into the design. Some patterns need just a touch of mirror to bring a little fire to the project while others can go bolder and bigger creating an element of drama that will literally take your breath away.” The three new additions Helios, Astral and Nocturne are set to do just that.

The Sirena pattern gets ethereal with the depth of the Nocturne mirror.

Helios, named after the former Greek God of the sun, explodes with sunbursts and solar flares arcing across a field of bronze. While Astral, reminiscent of the moon’s reflection on the ocean’s surface takes the cooler side of the color palette with its sultry silver splashes set against ripples of navy blue. And last, but certainly not least, Nocturne, true to its name, evokes the majesty of a clear starry night sky. With options like a 6” x 12” micro-beveled field (available in Astral and Nocturne) or the flexibility of custom design with Devotion’s patterns, these new colors will have the trumpets sounding the glory that is your residential or commercial project.

‘She sells, sea shells’ is the summer mantra for the Devotion Collection as a new Scallop pattern is introduced to the family. “Scallop is a classic pattern which has seen a big resurgence in the design world,” Cathy Aroz explains. So it is only fitting that Oceanside Glasstile add this classic shape to their offering but not without it’s own modern twist. “Our art glass can have so much movement,” Cathy details, “I wanted to keep the lines simple with just a subtle layer to open up the possibility to play with color and depth.” This new pattern is the perfect opportunity to create a beautiful space with bold color selection and placement.

Oceanside Glasstile Finds New Inspiration in Familiar Places

NEW PATTERNS FROM AROUND THE WORLD JOIN DEVOTION

Carlsbad, CA – November, 2015 – With the introduction of three new Antique Mirrors to the Devotion color palette in early 2015, Oceanside Glasstile saw an explosion of interest in their art glass collection. As a result, this Fall they will launch three new patterns – Random Linear, Jali and Sirena – allowing for more creativity and customization as you journey from oceans deep to the bustling streets of Morocco.

All of Devotion’s 8 water jet and 5 hand cut mosaic patterns can be found for your free-play enjoyment in Oceanside Glasstile’s “Custom Mosaic” design tool located in the “Resources” section of the www.glasstile.com. The design program allows you to render myriad color combinations, create custom blends, and email client ideas for samples. There’s tremendous functionality in the design tools for all of their mosaic patterns including both art glass and molten glass product lines.

Answering the demand for more variety following the launch of their Offset 1×6, 2×6, and 3×6 patterns, Oceanside Glasstile’s final pattern in their Fall Collection is a Random Linear. Full of life and movement, Devotion’s art glass transforms the new Random Linear pattern into a bubbling brook or rolling coastal fog. The natural variation of the art glass creates a dynamic flow, and makes it an easy selection for both traditional and contemporary design. Random Linear is all about architectural repose.

In keeping with true Oceanside Glasstile fashion, Jali is a traditional arabesque shape with a twist. Channeling a new Morocco, Jali’s interplay of large and small arabesques draw the eye in while the outlines offer a break from the standard repetitive pattern. Utilizing their water-jet capabilities, Oceanside Glasstile has created a unique network of pieces – intertwining two full body arabesques with a vine work outline. Jali is a new opportunity to create and push the limits of this traditional pattern.

Translating to “mermaid”, Sirena is an original pattern reminiscent of the mythos it was named after. Developed by Oceanside Glasstile’s Design + Merchandising Visionary, Cathy Aroz, “The proportion and scale of the organic shape allow it to fit well as a subtle texture on a backsplash or a larger focal point as art.” As a result, Sirena’s delicate petals seem to drift on their own up and down your wall.

Oceanside Glasstile’s Devotion collection is a union of stained glass, water-jet technology and hand-cut artistry. With a color palette that ranges from bold jewel tones to earth inspired neutrals, the layering of texture, mirror and iridescent surfaces adds a three dimensional quality to any installation. Many of Devotion’s patterns have organic roots, such as Lotus and Mariposa, while hand-cut patterns City Lights and Zest play to a more modern trend. With an in-house water-jet machine, Oceanside Glasstile also has the capacity for completely custom projects. From restaurant and building signs to scaled renditions of their own patterns, Oceanside Glasstile’s design and engineering teams are ready to render special project requests.
